We’re happy to announce that Witboost 2.8.0 is officially live.
This release marks a clear step forward in how business users, data teams, and AI agents interact with governed data products. Witboost 2.8.0 strengthens governance signals across the Marketplace, introduces more business-driven discovery mechanisms, and continues evolving Witty as an intelligent companion for navigating your data ecosystem.
Below is a detailed overview of what’s new.
With 2.8.0, Witboost's policy evaluation flags displayed in the Marketplace are now aggregated across the full consumable hierarchy.
When you look at a Product or Consumable, you no longer see only its local policy evaluations. You also see the evaluations of all its descendants (for example, Output Ports or nested consumables).
A new DISCARD action has been introduced to move a component to the NOT DEPLOYED target status.
This action is used when:
Witboost marks the component as undeployed
No call is made to the Tech Adapter
No action is performed on the target technology
Witboost 2.8.0 introduces the Business Concept Map, an interactive visualization available in the Marketplace.
Users can now:
Explore organizational business terminology
Navigate concepts and relationships visually
Discover data products starting from business language, not technical assets
This brings discovery closer to how business users actually think.
Behind the scenes, the new Knowledge Graph Manager unifies business knowledge coming from multiple systems into a single, queryable knowledge graph.
In this way:
Business concepts become first-class citizens
Discovery is no longer limited to domains or technical metadata
Witboost becomes a convergence point for enterprise knowledge
Together, Business Concept Map and KGM redefine how data products are discovered and understood.
It’s now possible to define and publish business-oriented documentation directly in the Marketplace with Witboost 2.8.0.
Aimed at end users and business stakeholders, this documentation is visible only for Products and Consumables exposed in the Marketplace and lives completely separate from technical or platform documentation.
The update moves the Marketplace closer to a real data consumption surface.
Witty gains a new Marketplace Agent focused on discovery and consumption.
The agent can:
Search for products based on user intent
Retrieve consumables of a product
Generate queries aligned with a specific goal
This is another concrete step toward AI-ready data platforms.
The documentation has been reorganized by audience:
Data Teams
Platform Teams
This makes it easier to:
Find relevant content faster
Reduce onboarding friction
Match documentation depth to experience level
As always, module images and documentation have been updated accordingly.
