Witboost 2.7.0 is Live – UI-driven contracts, AI access to the marketplace and smarter discovery

We just shipped Witboost 2.7.0, a release that brings ergonomics, governance, and AI-first discovery closer together. This update focuses on making governance easy to adopt, letting AI agents meaningfully navigate governed data, and making discovery reflect business reality (not only technical taxonomy).

Starter Kit: Bitol Data Contract Template

Marketplace: Visual Discovery Grouping

Discovery gets a major usability win: visual discovery can now group systems by up to three custom criteria (domains remain default). Group by legal entity, country, brand, or any business dimension you define — so browsing is aligned to your organization's specifics.

More Improvements

• System-type scope in RBAC — Roles can be limited to specific system types (Data Product, AI Project, etc.), and combined with domain scopes for precise permissions. Benefit: enforce least-privilege by intent and artifact type.

• Service Accounts — non-human accounts for CI/CD and integrations with fine-grained RBAC, JWT token exchange and lifecycle controls. Benefit: automation without credential sprawl.

• Identities Picker: exclude groups — configure the picker to hide specific groups for cleaner UX and less noise during assignments.

• Witboost CLI (stable) — first stable release of the CLI to interact with Witboost (including WCG validations and embedding a Validation Gateway in CI/CD). Benefit: policy checks in your pipelines.

• Witboost Infra CLI (stable) — automation tooling for platform installs and admin tasks (upgrades, image mirroring, DB prechecks). Benefit: simpler ops for platform teams.

• Number of users in license shown in Info Panel — see how many control-plane users are active versus included in your license. Benefit: clearer governance of seats and costs.

• Policy results — search by Report ID — find evaluation results (useful when CLI emits a Report ID during a run). Benefit: fast traceability between CLI/CI runs and UI results.

• Enhanced data discovery docs & lineage relations — updated guidance for visual discovery, lineage graph and readsFrom / logicallyReadsFrom relations (now target consumable components directly). Benefit: more accurate documentation of both implemented and conceptual dependencies.
